Employer Resources

This space is intended to be an expanding resource for listing additional provider organizations involved in reentry and second chance employment efforts, as well as to post informative research, articles and other helpful references that did not make it into the toolkit text, or come to our attention after publication.

  • RAND Corporation’s Resetting the Record research challenges myths surrounding hiring individuals with criminal records, providing evidence-based findings to help employers make fact-driven decisions.
  •  Skills-Based Hiring Is Gaining Ground, Employers try a new hiring approach, with mixed results. March 21, 2024 | Theresa Agovino From: [email protected], All Things Work from SHRM Skills-Based Hiring Is Gaining Ground (shrm.org); https://www.shrm.org/topics-tools/news/all-things-work/skills-based-hiring-new-workplace-trend#

RIGHT TO VOTE – Employers can play a significant role in encouraging individuals to participate in our democratic system by facilitating employees registering to vote. At time of hire, or at any time during employment, workers with felony convictions, in particular, may be unsure of their right to vote. The following three documents explain the voting rights of those with a history of a felony conviction, both in Connecticut and among other states, as well as information on how to register and vote.
