Workforce Developement
Within the DOC, Workforce Development is led by Coordinator Charles Botts, who oversees a comprehensive strategy aimed at equipping incarcerated individuals with valuable job skills. A major initiative under this strategy is the Vocational Village Program, which focuses on industry-aligned technical training and durable employability skills.
The DOC’s approach is built on career pathway development, ensuring participants are not only trained for jobs but are also supported in achieving long-term career success. This programming directly contributes to smoother reentry transitions and helps meet the hiring needs of employers across Connecticut.
