Pathway 3

Correctional Enterprises of Connecticut (CEC)

CEC provides incarcerated individuals with real-world work experience in areas like manufacturing, warehouse management, and quality assurance. While CEC products cannot be sold in the private market, the program develops in-demand skills that help participants transition into the workforce post-release.

The current CEC Program Director brings decades of experience as a former Manufacturing Production Manager, Technical School Educator and Small Business Owner to facilitate collaboration among Connecticut
employers and a wide range of DOC programs, including the new Vocational Village, Technical Education and Re-Entry Services. Finding the common threads and maximizing utility across these areas will serve those incarcerated and employers well.

Although CEC program participants cannot be employed directly by private sector employers or sell products they manufacture in the private sector marketplace, the program can provide skilled, productive workers so desperately sought by employers.
