Pathway 3
Vocational Village Program
The Department of Correction is providing education and training to incarcerated individuals prior to release. The project follows Governor Lamont’s directive of increasing Connecticut’s talent-to-jobs
pipeline and DOC’s vision of supporting offenders with the tools and resources they need for meaningful employment when they return to the community. The Vocational Village includes skilled trades training, certifications and credentials across various industries, as well as essential work skills.
Program highlights include:
- Earn GED if needed along with college credits
- Onsite job interviews and job placements
- Connecting participants with careers opportunities upon release
- Participants will be supported by removing initial barriers that normally exist upon re-entry.
