Workforce Development
As the Workforce Development Coordinator for the state’s Department of Correction, Charles Botts is responsible for the development of a comprehensive Workforce Development strategy. A significant portion of this strategy is the Vocational Village (VV) Program. VV is an innovative education and training program designed to empower incarcerated individuals with valuable skills and knowledge. Through this program DOC aims to provide a diverse range of vocational training options to that will equip inmates with industry specific knowledge and experience, along with the development of durable employability skills and a clear career pathway. By focusing on vocational skills, we strive to enhance participants’ employability and increase the likelihood of successfully reintegrating back to their communities.
